Herd Sires

Li’l Angels Candyman

Height: Immature
Date of Birth: November 2008
Colour: Brown
Sire: 758 Red Pride 31 ˝” Red
Dam: Li’l Angels Candy Kisses 32 ˝” Light Brown

After a telephone conversation with Jeannie Richards, Candyman’s breeder, that this little donkey should fly to the UK to live here at Gorcott Miniature Donkey Stud, it was one of the most exciting days of my life. Since his arrival here in April 2010 he has never disappointed us, because if anyone can ‘The Candyman Can’. Within 5 months he had nine 1st place wins, 1 Reserve Youngstock Championship, and 2 Championships.

Candyman is a stocky compact little donkey with fantastically straight legs, he is such a wonderful donkey to work with as he is a real gentleman who loves people. He is very entertaining and plays to the crowd throwing his Jolly ball, or rushing about with his hoop showing off to everyone.

Candyman is going to follow in his father’s footsteps I am sure, not only with show ring results but also when we have his foals.

Red Pride (Candyman’s Sire) show results:

  • 1st Place Jack, Reserve Champion, San Antonio, 2009, Best of Breed Champion Jack, 1st Place
  • Jack San Antonio, 2008, 3rd Place Jacks, NMDA National Show.

Thank you Jeannie & Kenny – The Candyman Can.

Li’l Angels Footloose

Height: 31”
Date of Birth: April 2005
Colour: Brown/Grey/Dun
Sire: Itsy Bitsy ˝ Teaspoon 30 ˝“ Dark Brown
Dam: TRR Miranda 33” Brown & White

From the first time I saw Footloose I just knew he was the donkey for me, his great conformation, excellent temperament and fantastic small size, all made for the perfect package.

Footloose has the most gorgeous small head, perfect bite and a friendly willing disposition making him the perfect sire, here at Gorcott Miniature Donkey Stud.

When people visit they just fall in love with this little guy; Footloose is a very sociable little donkey that loves human company, and his foals are following in his footsteps. At his first show at the Texas State Fair, Footloose was awarded Class Winner plus Junior Reserve Champion and has continued to do very well in the show ring here in the UK, winning 12 first places, 4 Reserve Championships and 5 Supreme Championships.

During 2010 Footloose assisted Philip, a junior member of the Donkey Breed Society to gain his Bronze awards, and during August Footloose visited Coventry & Warwickshire Radio Station where he was interviewed on air! What more can I say, this little donkey is just a poppet.
